Last weekend was one of the greater ones I’ve had in while. No, it wasn’t because the official spring time has arrived. It was because my bestest and dearest friend visited me after one and a half year apart. It was her first time in Lithuania too, so naturally I had to show her around. That resulted in us walking around the old town of Vilnius the whole Friday and Sunday as well as going to Druskininkai & Trakai to showcase our beautiful nature and smaller towns. Since I only have the weekend to take outfit pictures, I wanted to shoot some despite our sightseeing agenda. That’s how the idea of this post came to my head - I wanted to look cool and interesting but I didn’t want to sacrifice the comfort.

Therefore, I wanted to share some tips about travelling in style:

  1. Wear a backpack

First, you will probably have to a lot of stuff with you, I knew I did since I brought my DSLR + my Fujifilm Instax camera. I love the look of shopper bags or larger totes, they no doubt can look very chic yet they are not that easy to carry when half of your life is stuffed in there. That’s why think backpacks! There are so many cool ones to choose from these days, they have definitely came back to fashion in the last seasons.

  1. Add something bright

I decided to go for a pink sweater so that I don’t disappear into my big coat and something really bright peaks through while walking. I am not the one for colour but sometimes the mood strikes me and since it is spring after all, why not? Lindex has some amazing bright coloured cardigans and sweater in their new collection, so if you are into blue, pink, yellow - check them out!

  1. Accessories are your best friends

At least they are in my books. I never leave my house without at least a watch. I believe even the tiniest jewellery pieces can make a difference in an outfit, so don’t be afraid to wear them! When it comes to minimal accessories, I think there are no rules there - just put whatever feels the most comfortable to you and go. I tend to go for earrings and rings at all times, but layered necklaces look amazing, as well as a nice bracelet to go with your watch.

  1. Walk in sneakers and don’t think twice

There is no point in wearing any other shoes but sneakers. I wore my very comfortable boots from Zara when we walked the whole Friday & by the end of the they were pinching my feet. So, I just decided to put on some sports shoes the next day and I was a very happy lady without any feet pain! If I had a chance at the time, I would have swapped my black Reebok’s for black Converse & that would have been perrrrfect. Those shoes just look cool with anything, am I right?

I hope you liked my little tips and have a great week!
