beauty corner: everyday makeup for NYE

I was never a party animal, so it's not natural for me to get glammed up, I prefer more casual outings. However, since New Year's Eve is fastly approching, I thought I'd share my every day makeup routine with a little festive twist as well as showcase my favourite products that I've been using for months now.

So, let's start with a base. For the past year I was using a foundation from L'Oreal that I loved as the colour was perfect for me and nothing was able to beat that. However, I was lucky enough to be sent a new Fit Me foundation from Maybelline that blew my mind. It looks super natural on the skin, no cakey-iness whatsover, it lasts all day and doesn't go patchy on the skin and finally, the colour match is perfect for me, which I never thought I'd say about a base product from the drugstore! Total score indeed. Then, I use The Eraser - a concealer from Maybelline for my undereyes. It blends like a dream and doesn't cake up under the eyes. Sadly, you cannot get it in Lithuania, so I have to order it online.

Next, to the cheeks - my all time favourite bronzer is from The Body Shop. I've been using it for two years now (in the shade 3) & it never disappointed. Looks super natural while it still enhances my cheekbones. I don't have a favourite blusher, but my go to at the moment is from H&M since it has a lovely berry undertone and is very pigmented. For highlighting, I use Maybelline Master strobing stick, it is very easy to use and looks quite natural on the skin, which I like for every day wear.

Now onto the eyes! I use Maybelline eyebrow pencil and an eyebrow gel from L'Oreal. They are nice products to use, but I don't have favourites here since there is always something new coming out: a gel pomade, an eyeshadow, a new type of pencil - sometimes it's hard to keep up! And at the end of the day, all of that to make your eyebrows look on fleek!
Moving on to the eye shadows! This Cocoa palette from Zoeva is so versatile that you can even do both your day and evening look with it. I've had it for a while and it never disappointed me. This time I was just doing my usual makeup and decided to add a darker glittery shade to my crease and voila. After putting some Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious mascara for some extra drama - I was ready to hit a party!

Finally, I put on some nude matte lipstick from Maybelline and that was it for my everyday/going to spend New Year's Eve with friends kinda look. You can always add a brighter colour for more drama or a red lippe for that classic look - it never gets old!

This will be my last post this year, so I wish you all a very happy and bright New Year celebrations & I'll see you next year!

xo, Gema.
